| Cabaret: Special Student-Only Preview Cabaret Book by Joe Masteroff Based on the play by John Van Druten and stories by Christopher Isherwood Music by John Kander Lyrics by Fred Ebb Broadway production directed by Harold Prince Produced for the Broadway Stage by Harold Prince In the Harold and Sylvia Greenberg Theatre Wednesday, April 3 at 8pm Tickets: $5 (AU Students Only) Provocative, bawdy, and insightful... this Studio 54 version of Cabaret will have you engaged from the onset. Memorable numbers such as Mein Herr and Maybe This Time are just part of this powerful story by Christopher Isherwood set in Berlin in 1931, as the Nazis are rising to power. We are enticed by the story of 19-year-old performer Sally Bowles, who works at the seedy Kit Kat Club, and her romance with an American writer named Cliff Bradshaw who travels to Germany for inspiration for a new novel. We learn that life is an odd cabaret, rife with challenges, turmoil, and the need to make bold choices. Cabaret was the first production presented in our theatre ten years ago. In honor of Sylvia and Harold Greenberg, we are offering a special AU Students-only preview showing. Valid AU Student ID required to purchase and pick up tickets ID will be checked at the Box Office One ticket only per student Wednesday, April 03, 2013 at 8:00 PM Harold and Sylvia Greenberg Theatre 4200 Wisconsin Ave., NW American University Washington, DC 20016 Map & Directions |
